Accessibility

1. Our commitment
We want Compare Caravan Repairs to be usable by as many people as possible, whatever device, browser or assistive technology you use. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Accessibility is something we keep working on rather than a box we tick once.
2. What we do
- Build pages with clean, semantic HTML and clear headings.
- Support keyboard navigation and a visible focus state on interactive elements.
- Aim for sufficient colour contrast between text and background.
- Provide text alternatives for meaningful images.
- Use a responsive layout that adapts to phones, tablets and desktops, and works when text is enlarged.
- Respect your “reduced motion” setting and avoid unnecessary animation.
- Label forms clearly and report errors in plain language.
3. Known limitations
Some parts of the service aren't fully accessible yet, and we're working to improve them:
- Maps use a third-party component that may be difficult to use with some assistive technologies; the same information is available as text.
- Documents uploaded by repair businesses (such as certificates or terms in PDF form) are supplied by them and may not meet accessibility standards.
- Some older content may not yet meet every WCAG 2.2 AA criterion.
- A few terracotta headings and buttons on our cream background sit just below the WCAG AA colour-contrast ratio. The text stays legible, and we may adjust these shades in future.
4. Reporting a problem
If you find an accessibility barrier, or need information in a different format, please tell us — your feedback helps us fix things faster. Use our contact form and include the page address and a short description of the problem, and we'll aim to respond within five working days.
