Two brothers, four kids, two caravans.

We're two brothers — a few years apart, both with young families, both hooked on touring since we were kids ourselves. Weekends at the coast, a fortnight in the Lakes every summer, last-minute pitches booked at half five on a Friday with the dog already in the boot. The caravan is half the family at this point.

What we didn't have was a mate in the trade. No friend-of-a- friend who could pop round on a Saturday morning, give the van the once-over, sort the damp patch behind the wardrobe, or book us in for a habitation service before the season started. Every year we'd be on the phone for a week — chasing engineers, leaving voicemails, comparing scribbled-down quotes, never quite sure whether £290 was a fair price for a service or whether the lad who'd answered first was the right one to trust with the gas.

We knew we couldn't be the only ones. Talking to other families on site, we heard the same story over and over: brilliant engineers exist all over the country, but finding one near you, comparing them honestly, and booking the right job is harder than it should be.

So we built Compare Caravan Repairs. One short form, real quotes from local specialists, qualifications and reviews on display, and a decision you can make over a cuppa rather than over three days of phoning round. The site we'd have used ourselves ten years ago — and the mate in the trade we never had.
